April Solway - gorse and showers, Campfield Marsh. Painting by John Rogers 30th April, 2010
John & Judith Rogers
Art sketch showing the Solway as it is today. Get yourselves up here. Its quiet, the air is clean, its a haven for tired overworked people. You know you have always wanted to start birdwatching. Its really easy. Stacks of good books on the subject. You can either dabble or you can give meaning to the...

Barnacles grazing on the South Solway Marshes
John & Judith Rogers
This pic is of the Barnacles - bit of a speciality of the Solway. These little geese centre mostly on the WWT Caerlaverock Reserve whose wonderful work with this population over the years has seen their proliferation and spread throughout the Solway Basin. We seem to be seeing more of them as time...

Cattle grazing Campfield Marsh with rain shower approaching
John & Judith Rogers
This is just a typical scene on the marsh frontage of the Reserve. The grazier's cattle can be brought in anytime from the beginning of April and left until the end of October dependant on weather and the quality of the grass. As these marshes are very exposed and the cattle can find it difficult...
