Who yonder cutteth the Rushes? - 7th September 2012
John & Judith Rogers
Great! It was a fine morning: sunshine and plenty of wind blowing - all commodities that have been in short supply round here in recent months. My delicate hearing picked up the sound of at least three separate tractors working at the ‘back’ - as we call it! The heavy thud of low gear work...

Mixed flock of Pinks and Barnacles over rushy meadow, North Plain, 13th Feb 2010
John & Judith Rogers
This peacefully grazing flock, seen in front of the hide, was disturbed by the sound of a nearby light plane. They took off and headed out towards the raised moss area of the Reserve.

Pinks and Barnacles in flight, North Plain Farm 21 Feb 2010

Large mixed flock of geese seen from hide overlooking flooded grassland. Whereas, currently, they are not on the farm smaller flocks of both species can still be seen in the Solway basin. Best chance of sightings in the Moricambe Bay area.
