Lots to tell from the Sacred A4 so I will get straight to it !!
Old Moor to begin ..
Lots of 'no fixed abodes' today .. Which were .. Tree sparrows. blackbirds, pheasants, great tits, starlings, 2 male bullfinches, magpies, collared doves, wood pigeons, swifts, sand martins, house martins, swallows, black-headed gulls, stock doves, Canada geese with goslings, greylag geese, coots, moorhens with chicks, tufted ducks, goldfinches, greenfinches, linnets, little grebes, a grey heron, pochards, gadwalls, a yellowhammer and a hobby !!! ...
You can put those wherever you like !!
On the Mere were avocets, oystercatchers, little-ringed plovers, redshanks, 4 dunlins and 2 lesser black-backed gulls with chicks ..
There were 14 avocets seen on the Wader Scrape which is obviously great !! :-)
The bittern was seen on numerous occasions as it searched the reedbeds for food for its' new family ..
Now to Bolton Ings ..
Seen here were 6 great-crested grebes, 9 little grebes, a drake wigeon, 30 tufted ducks, 7 pochards (2m + 5f), 72 coots with 13 broods in all, 14 lapwings, 6 oystercatchers with 2 young, an avocet, 2 common terns, a redshank, a kingfisher, 6 chiffchaffs, 6 blackcaps, 5 willow warblers, 5 whitethroats and a garden warbler !

Wombwell Ings had 5 teals and 2 mute swans with cygnets ..
A final report was from the Trans-Pennnine Trail near to the Old Moor car park .. Seen here were a chiffchaff, a blackcap and a garden warbler ..

This evening on the wader scrape, there were 2 adult avocets seeing off ducks, gulls and anything else that got close to the little avocet-lets dabbling about there.
