...but some good sightings none-the-less, including 30 snow geese on the fields between Christmas Dell and the Dengemarsh road. This flock has been at Scotney pit for the last few days, although there were 31 there so one's either got lost or someone has miscounted! The long-tailed duck swam obligingly past the Visitor Centre and great white egret and a few smew were still on New Diggings.
Yesterday's highlights included three rock pipits at the south-eastern end of the ARC pit and two Caspian gulls on Burrowes pit, but the best news was of a sand martin over the same pit at about 9.30 am. Here comes spring!
