Hello All,
A few photos from late December & early January.
Over 3,000 Brent Geese on the Island at the moment and normally some are present at Elmley.
Many Common Buzzards about.
Great Views around the reserve
Fieldfare
A collection of Waders.
Photo below from Jan 2011, I wonder how many of these have returned for 2012 !. In a year Wellmarsh Pool has seen blue green algae and a drought .
Filling up !.

Thanks James,
If only we could have blue skies everytime we go out.
All the best
Hi RR,
Lovely shots as always mate. Most impressed with the shots of the Merlin!
They are so quick and low flying they aren't easy ones to capture.
Was that a recent spot by the way?
And an cracking shot of the SEO too! That's one which is still on my list.
My mate and I actually popped to Elmley on Sunday 16th Jan but it was absolutely packed. I've never seen the car park so busy and so many people. Good for the reserve but not so great for photographing birds! :o)
All the hides were packed to the rafters and with so many people about most stuff was unfortunately staying well out of the range of our lenses.
Cheers,
Gaz.
Thanks Gaz,
Well pleased with the Merlin, blink and you miss them, photo taken in January.
Glad you are still getting out and about.
