  • Has anyone seen the Gull that fly's over on the way home in the evening, (or out in the morning), that looks like it's towing a big bright red "feather duster" behind it?.

I saw it again in the evening when they were flying home to roost, Friday 03/02/2012.

Very strange, it does not seem to bother it for flying. It's obviously got something caught up around it's legs.

I have not yet managed to get a photo, I will keep trying, it's always a gamble as it may not fly over the same area every time.

    Cheers,

    Steve.

  • Hi Steve. I haven't seen the bird you describe, but I have seen a number of gulls trailing items from their legs. Unfortunately, it's a product of them spending so much time on land-fill sites and getting caught up in non-biodegradable packaging. Bring back the paper bag!

  • Thanks Andy, thats a good point, I'd forgot about landfills.

    Cheers,

    Steve.
