I was out for a very early walk around the lakes this morning & couldn't quite believe my eyes when I stumbled upon this little beauty (visible from the hide overlooking Moore lake). I can only think that the recent warm weather has confused its 'radar' on the journey back to The Farne...

Greylag Goose taken from the hide on Moore lake on Sat 10th March.

These have been hanging around Swavesey Lake for a week or so, but nice to get a closer view today (2.3.2012) from the hide on Moore Lake.

The greylag x canada goose hybrid amongst greylag geese.

Pic taken 19.2.2012 Distant shot (taken from the hide). You can just about make out that the closer deer is the doe, with the stag behind. I can't ever recall 2 muntjac ever being so visible on the reserve. Lets hope they are resident!
