A cold December visit to Hodbarrow and the view out to sea was amazing. yu camerea was not good enough to capture any birds such as the visiting blue winged teal (hope I remembered that correctly -it was a better informed spotter who pointed it out to me!)
I will be back to the reserve as soon as i can. Loved it, though hat and gloved a necessity!
Love the caption for this photo, yes indeed Haverigg and Hodbarrow are very special,an often forgotten"Stairway".Many thanks, and yes, please do return.
I did get back for a long weekend at the start of March. Sunshine again, and a lot warmer. Saw lots of teals and glebes, and looking forward to the changes that are planned to include a new warden at Hodbarrow. The shrubs looked a bit mangled by a blunt cutter which was a shame.
