  • Visited Lake Vyrnwy during the Half-Term holidays with my family. Living in Liverpool , we thought it was a reservoir to supply our water. Well it is and much more besides: a beautiful lake at the foot of mountains and forest with tower and dam and the village of Llanwddyn. Friendly RSPB staff giving directions to Sculpture parks, Nature Trails and Rhiwargor Falls. Coed y Capel Hide is fantastic!

  • Glad you enjoyed your visit to Vyrnwy. It is a stunning lake isn't it? Last time I was there, the weather was... well a little on the wet side. Not that this dampened our spirits. We saw lots of goosander on the lake and a pair of Pied flycatchers from the hide.
