A red kite was spotted flying over the saltmarsh on Thursday (2/6)  and was seen again over the reedbed on Friday (3/6)!  Fridays scorching hot weather seemed to give the wildlife a boost.  Whitethroats and sedge warblers were seen and heard along the path to the Allen Hide.  A Mediterranean gull was seen at the Griesdale hide, along with a bar headed goose.  A pair of ospreys spent some time down at Island Mere fishing, which was viewed from the Lower hide. At 19.40 an otter was seen from the Public hide.

Saturday was cooler, but brought with it views of a Little Gull at Lilian's Hide and a grasshopper warbler on the path to the Allen hide.

Red deer are putting in regular appearances at Tim Jackson and Griesdale hides.  The marsh harriers are also showing well most days around the whole reedbed, with particular hot spots being the Public and Lower hides.  The avocets and their young are being seen a lot at the Allen and Eric Morecambe hides.
