Brilliant Binoculars!

Brilliant Binoculars!

This weekend is our Binocular and Telescope Event (Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 August from 10 am to 4 pm) and it's another chance for me to stop by our team of binocular advisors to ask questions and to admire the sheer variety that are now available.

Stuart, who works for Viking, is part of our team this weekend, so do take the opportunity to ask him any burning questions-he will be more than happy to help! (as will the rest of our team)

There are a couple of pairs of binoculars that I'd like to tell you about as they are quite new. The RSPB's new puffin binoculars have blown me away! They are very similar to many of the new style binoculars but are at a very affordable price of £49.95. We have bought a couple of pairs to hire out for visitors and they are going down extremely well.

If you like the look and sound of them, here's some more detailed info:

Brilliant value, good entry level, high-quality binoculars. Supplied with a case and strap, a handy bird identification guide and a FREE pin badge.

Suitable for adults and older children. One year guarantee. Specifications: Magnification 8x; Lens diameter (mm) 32; Exit pupil (mm) 4; Eye relief (mm) 13.6; Field of view (degrees) 7.5; Close focus (m) 2.5; Height (mm) 112; Width (mm) 115; Weight (g) 500

At the top end of the range Swarovski have brought out a new style-10x30CL at £779 and 8x30CL at £749

Why not come along and check them out? We strongly believe that buying binoculars is a very personal thing, so we are here to advise in relation to your needs (and price range). If you do decide to treat yourself then you can leave with a warm happy feeling, as in addition to walking away with a shiny new pair of binoculars which I'm sure will give you many happy moments, all our profits go to help nature too!

  • Hi-

as someone who is always checking out bins I recommend a binocular/ optics day AT A RESERVE. You can't judge bins for birding looking down the High street at brick walls etc. The chance to use them in 'proper' surroundings is always preferable.
