Robin Red-Breast is panicking as he has bought Christmas presents for all his wildlife friends at Leighton Moss, but catastrophe has struck and he has lost them around the nature trails.
He is really upset and worried that he will not be able to give all his friends a present on Christmas Day and is asking children and their families to help him to find them.
Beki Williams, Visitor Officer Intern said “If plenty of people come along to help Robin Red-Breast look for the presents, he should be able to find them all in time. We have provided a map to plot where they are and it will be great fun to find all the funny things he has bought as presents!”
‘Robin’s Present Panic’ family trail will be run from Sunday 18 to Saturday 24 December from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. The cost is free for RSPB members and anyone arriving on public transport or bike, otherwise the normal admission price to the nature trails is £9 for a family.
Along the way there is plenty of wildlife to see, with a flurry of birds at the woodland feeding station, many different types of ducks splashing around the pools and the chance to spot Rudolph’s cousins, the red deer.
During a visit here there will be seasonal home-made food available in the café and plenty of original Christmas gifts for all ages, including Wildlife Explorers Membership which is an ideal Christmas present for kids. Get that ‘feel good factor’ too, as all the profits go to helping nature.
The visitor centre is open every day, except Christmas Day and the opening hours on Christmas Eve are 9.30 am to 3 pm, Boxing Day from 10 am to 4.30 pm, New Years Eve 9.30 am to 3 pm, New Years Day 10 am to 4.30 pm. The visitor centre is open as usual from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm on all the other days.
