If you are planning to visit us on Sunday 30 September, please be advised that a stretch of the C494 New Road, Silverdale will be closed to all motor vehicles for the following period:

From 23:25 hours on Saturday 29th September to13:25 hours on Sunday 30th September, or to the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.

The section of road in question is a distance of 20 metres either side of the level crossing on C494 New Road.

The reason for this closure is that Network Rail are doing work on the level crossing.  They will be putting a diversion route in place following the route C494 New Road, Slackwood Lane, C497 Storrs Lane,

C498 Silverdale Road, Footeran Lane, Flat Lane, Yealand Road, Hyning Lane, Main Street Warton, C494 Sand Lane & New Road.

You will still be able to visit us if you take the route from the A6 through Yealand Redmayne as opposed to going through Carnforth and Warton. You can still reach the saltmarsh hides on foot (approx 1 mile walk from the Visitor Centre by road) or by driving following the diversion.
