Loch Garten osprey diary

The ospreys at Loch Garten have people across the world gripped in their tale of violence, adultery and... well... fishing.

The male osprey ringed with an orange plastic ring inscribed 'VS' was caught at Rothiemurchus fish farm on 16 August 1994, when he was two years old.

Orange VS paired with White EJ in 2008, but he didn't appear in 2009.

Male ospreys have a 'clean' white breast, whereas females are more streaked brown.

    I know I kind of asked a while back for some link on the main page to show us each of the Ospreys involved with Loch Garten, so whether or not this is in response, many thanks. Seeing OVS & EJ in this picture makes it so much clearer. Thanks again.
