Stop Press!!!

Both Garten and Mallachie have fledged, in that order!  Here is a run down of the day so far -

3.50 - Odin brought in a fish.

9.50 - Rothes lands on the post beside the nest and calls to her sisters.

10.00 - Rothes and EJ sit on the camera tree.  Mallachie and Garten sit on the nest.

10.05 - Odin delivers a 10" brown trout, Mallachie tucks in!

12.10 - EJ returns to the nest and alarm calls, as an intruder circles around the area.

12.15 - Odin delivers a fish, Rothes returns to the nest to eat as well.

12.24 - The intruder returns, EJ alarm calls.

13.15 - Odin flies off.

13.28 - GARTEN FLEDGES!  She circles the nest and lands in the camera tree.  Rothes flies to join her on the  camera tree.  Mallachie sits on her own on the nest!

15.30 - MALLACHIE FLEDGES!  She flies to the camera tree and sits on top of the camera!  EJ and Garten sit on the camera tree, Rothes and Odin are out of sight.

As I type Garten and Rothes are sitting together on the nest.  What an exciting day!

As Katie wrote, unfortunately we cannot publish your comments at present, but I hope that you are enjoying the webcam and that this blog fills in any gaps.

We await the next fish and the next flight....

  • Well hello hello HELLO!! Oh how we've missed the blog! SO much action at Chez LG today. Don't know where to start really! Mallachie is one hour and 36 minutes into a whopper that EJ brought at 12.30 - Paula

  • Hello everyone at LG, it is great to see that you have the new site up and running. I can't wait to hear more news about our beautiful osprey family.

All the very best to your new site.  :-)

    Sandy.

  • Oh, how nice to have the blog back! And not before time, I've not know what to do with myself. But it's a bit of a surprise, clicking on refresh and being faced with this new website!

I was hoping there could be an update, I'm so lost about what's been happening, I relied on the sound so much to let me know something was happening, and without it I don't know. I think we all have a problem with sitting for any length of time gazing at the nest.

I feel sorry for our overseas friends, Annette in Socal and Barbara Jean amongst them, who used to watch over night, and now can see nothing. But I'm not moaning (would I dare?) I'm just so glad to have this blog up and running again. Thanks to you all.

  • Wow, it looks so different here now, I must have a look around. :))

Happy to see the blogg seems to work now, good done!

  • Yes, up and running now I have remembered my email address and password!!  All three chicks on nest just now plus EJ who is waiting "in the wings" just in case any of the chicks decide to leave her a morsel of the omonster fish she brought in nearly two hours ago now.  Pru

  • SO good to have you back! We've missed you :)

Not sure where we're supposed to post comments but I just wanted to thank you at the Centre for the fantastic zoomed images you've been allowing us to see on the webcam.

  • Hello everyone!  What a surprise this is - a pleasant one but a bit confusing at first. Don't feel it's quite as exclusive but maybe that's cos I'm still finding my way around the "Community and Group things".   Well it was a quietish start to the day and then very busy on the nest over the last couple of hours - Mallachie certainly had her fill and am sure her stomach is sticking out more bless her.  Looks as if it's raining at LG.  It is down here in the SE!

  • can we add a comment here yet??

  • Well I see we can chat away here too.  Just seen a lot of wing flapping and lovely close up of the sisters.

  • Hi all  - Good to be back, It's been good to see Live streaming up and running again over the past few days. The Ospreys are looking great. Not be long now till EJ leaves for warmer and drier climes. What a successful year this year.

Not sure if should be posting on this one.  Just logged on . New community looks very impressive and user friendly.

Hope all is well at the centre. Look forward to your next blog x

  • Still getting used to the new site. Is it possible to change my sign in name? So my comments don't read 'jane allport said' ?

    All looks very fab!

Also, any chance of sound on the new camera? So we can actually hear the Ospreys call?
