I've just enterered the most recent data for Rothes and Mallachie. I'm inputting it a bit early because I'm away this weekend down to Perthshire and I'm keen to get away on time!
Since 3pm on 7th, Rothes has headed in a SW direction across Ilha das Galinhas then briefly visited I de Enu. She then headed N onto the mainland of Guinea-Bissau between Rio Mansoa to the W and Rio Geba to the E. She crossed over the Rio Geba at about 4pm yesterday and as of 10pm (the last point I have) she was near to Ganjetra. She's still got a lot of ground in this area to explore.
The latest point I have for Mallachie is 9pm yesterday (8th). She was in the same area in Portugal, roosting close to the reservoir SE of Ladoeiro.

So our island-hopping girl has "hopped" to the mainland - take care, wee Rothes, stay out of trouble. Mallachie is still a "stay-at-home girl" - stayed around at LG and now lingering in Portugal - only going the minimum distance needed!

Tish - I think the islands are fine for Rothes - (having looked at the YouTube video ) it seems an Ospsrey paradise so don't fret too much. These atolls make for great fishing (not very deep water). And I don't think humans shoot Osprey there - too busy fishing themselves :) As you say, Precious Mallachie is doing just fine.

Cirrus- I too liked what I saw of those islands, particularly the National Park bit. I just hope, as original goldfish says, that wherever she goes Rothes keeps out of trouble and feeds well. Thanks Alice - enjoy Perth.

Tish I put Ganjetra into GE and it is definitely on the mainland and in same area as Nethy was last year.
Just to clarify. Rothes is now on the mainland of Guinea Bisseau not far from where Nethy was last year.
