Interesting - a bird of habit, if it was the same one!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Thanks for starting the new thread Alan. Marais D'Orx is a known wintering site, but I wonder where the one in Maine was going - not the Loire, as it's already north of there.
That sighting is very intriguing. They have added the date seen last year:
vendredi 14 janvier 2011la Hirollière / Roullée (72) 1 Balbuzard pêcheur (Pandion haliaetus) [Romain Ledunois ] Remarque : AOH - En vol au-dessus de la Sarthe. Observé un mois plus tôt que la première date de 2010 (le 13/02/2010).
Thanks Alan for starting a new osprey sightings for 2011.

You asked about the spreadsheet of osprey ring IDs. What I've been doing is posting it from time to time in the Sightings thread, so here is its first appearence in 2011.
4035.Osprey ID 170111.xlsx
The new page for 2011 shows only the birds confirmed to be alive so far this year; that is, the sat-tagged ospreys which were in contact as at 1st Jan, plus one ID'd by the Rutland Water team in Senegal. Others will be transferred or added, as and when they show up.
Re the "2008 and prior" page you said you had details for Heather, Logie's 2007 chick - where from? I didn't copy what was on Roy Dennis' site, as he had obviously duplicated the details for the 2008 chick "Glen" in error - both showed ring as white/black PK
Sue C, on my version of 2008 and prior, I had a text box covering up the Heather comment noted by you on the Thistle entry. I had been doing some detective work on Heather and come to the conclusion that her ring (assuming she is female) was possibly either 'AO' or 'AQ'. Maybe one of us should email Roy to tell him of the error? As an author I am sure that he would not mind.

Hi Alan
Great to see you have the sightings for 2011 up & running.
I can update some information on the female at one of the nests I monitor Blue/White XL(right leg) to add to record. She was ringed near Crieff on 6th July 1994. Unfortunately her nest collapsed in late September after she, her mate & single chick had departed. She is listed at 28 on 2010 sheet.
Looking forward to coming season.
Best wishes
Val

Thanks Val. SueC maintains that spreadsheet and I am sure she will update the details accordingly. Your input is most welcome.
