That juvenile obviously knows it is in friendly surroundings! Maybe the RSPB will have their own pair of breeding ospreys on the doorstep in a few years time. Not sure about this one's genes, though - it seems to be lacking the basic biological push to get itself away south.
Which reminds me - I see still no update on Ozwold since 27 October. Hope he has decided to stay put in Spain.
Rachel Latest update from Gill Lewis here. Ozwold seems to be content in Spain at the moment.

A report from RSPB Sandy Lodge on their osprey
It seems the osprey
may still be in the area, we have heard from Steve Blain the
Beds County Recorder that it was reported flying towards the reserve on
two occasions on Sunday the 6th and it ( must be the same bird surely!)
was spotted at Grafham Water on the 8th, so it's still happy hanging
out in this part of the UK!
and a later one the same day:
The osprey is
definitley still here! It was seen on a couple of occasions around the
reserve today, once coming into land in a tree along the path to Galley
Hill, being mobbed by ravens. Crossbills have been seen around the
hillfort and a brambling was watched from the hide.

Marais d'Orx (Générique) / Orx (40)
1 Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) [Yohann Montane ]
Is that unusual for an Osprey to stay in UK until now??
A short newspaper article on the osprey currently around RSPB HQ, Sandy. The article suggests that this is the latest sighting of osprey in Bedfordshire, beating the record of 28 October 1976 - a hot summer, if I recall correctly. I wonder whether they have been able to id the bird and thus from where it has come.
According to my records there was 1 sighting on 13th November last year and then another 2 on 1st December.
Wow ALAN, 1 December was certainly late last year, given the early freeze we 'enjoyed'.
One in Holland today with a photo:
