NEWS FROM OTHER NESTS - 2012

  • I can't view it on IE9. Apparently you can install Axis add-on with 32-bit but not 64-bit IE9. Firefox and Chrome are ok.

  • So that's me out then Chloe 'cos I refuse to download FF & Chrome 'cos had so much hassle with them before!  You'll have to post pic updates for me !!!

  • I have switched to IExp 32bit and it worked straight away without downloading anything, I have to use this also to view Dunedin Osprey nest in Florida, don't know if that one has gone live yet, so will check it out.

  • I think this cam is like the Dunedin one, it switches off periodically.  Also, recordings go into spasms when there's movement - but that can't detract from the ineffable sweetness of the resident osprey who's looking out for love ;-)

  • PS, I've messaged Ocean's Reach on their Facebook page about posting videos: accreditation, copyright etc.

  • Osprey back on nest at Sanibel Island right now.

  • scylla - Thank you, it's wonderful to see an osprey video on the forum again :))

  • Scylla thank you for your vid, I've been watching it eating a fish this afternoon, and some cheeky crows were trying to get in on the action! Lol :)

Lol, NiteOwl, echoes of Dyfi ;-D

  • Osprey nest at Teifi Marshes

  • Thanks for the link, Alan - looks like a nice detached des res for an osprey family!

  • Was highly miffed to load Sanibel and find that the cam was misaligned - then alarmed to see the piece of garbage in the bottom left corner, which I hope never causes harm to the residents :o  Those American ospreys seem to pick up more human detritus than our UK ones, however that's probably because a lot of them are urban I suppose.  Hope that's not someone's house-key at bottom right :o

Anyway, the cam was soon fixed, and it struck me that it's no wonder some of us are surprised to see how big ospreys are when we see them against humans - ospreys are so darn cute they give the impression of being dinky ;-)

He's been standing there for nearly 2 hours.

Unfortunately, for video purposes it's not too good, the picture ripples whenever there's movement :-(

  • ALAN PETRIE

    Thank you ALAN.

I tried to link to the final view from the car park but it didn't work.  Anyway, it's a lovely scene.
