Both birds trying to move a biggish stick, but as one is on one side, and one on the other, it's going nowhere! The chicks look fine, growing well.
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
5R has flown off in disgust, leaving Mrs to battle with the stick, which has a long twig coming out of it in a V-shape; when Mrs places one end satisfactorily, the other end is over the chicks who are keeping their heads down. Poor Mrs is getting quite stressed about it!
Here she is battling with the awkward stick:
She was getting very frustrated and, shortly afterwards, managed to push it over to the right-hand side of the nest. Unfortunately she then lost her balance and fell backwards into the nest cup, sitting on the chicks!
She's feeding them now. I imagine they are very relieved that order has been restored!
I wonder if that's the same stick I saw her battling with the other day?????

Hi Patily, I don't 'blog' on here for lots of reasons - totally unimportant reasons. That lovely report that you've read was written by Ken, (Ken's Diary ) on the http://www.ospreys.org.uk/ page and Michelle posted the report, she is the Asssistant Manager. Ken writes so beautifully.... click on the 'News', righthandside, you'll see 'Ken's Diary', I'm Lynda but I can't compete :)))
lynda, lovely to see you and Ken is a very good writer and love his diary.
I mistook him for Tim on the trip to Senegal I think lol.
Thanks for pointing me in the direction of Ken's Diary. Beautiful writing. You're really there with him. Lovely :)
