Patily, this may well be because Roy D has been occupied on something else this week and hasn't had a chance to look at the satllite data and post an update. There was a sighting in Cornwall on Wednesday which could have been Rothiemurchus if he had set off across the Bay of Biscay on Monday, but we'll need to wait until Roy can update his site to find out.
Roy Dennis is talking at Boat of Garten on Monday 7th May at 7 pm.
He is talking again at same venue on Monday 28th May and some of us intend to be there.

Oh great news. Seems as if he might have wimped out of the Bay of Biscay crossing.
I have a good story about Rothiemuchus.
Last year on the Tuesday 31st May Chloeb and I arrived at the Dyfi project. They had an intruding osprey and I suggested it might be Rothiemurchus.
Janine, one of the staff members at Dyfi said "Oh Rothiemurchus in Devon. This was news to us as we thought he was still in Spain.
Well he wasn't in Devon. As it later transpired "At 4pm he was near Machynlleth" see here and here So he was very close as we spoke.
I have a theory that ospreys can "smell out" active nests. I wonder if Rothiemurchus was checking out Dyfi?
Yes that was a great bit of news at the time Tiger. I reckon Rothiemurchus knew we would be there and flew over our B&B to wave :)

Wow, Rothiemurchus arrived in Devon this morning. Will be fascinating to see where he goes this year.
EDIT. His landfall this year near Salcombe is about 4 miles from his landfall on his spring migration last year at Hope Cove. The difference is that last year he had flown 830km direct across the Bay of Biscay from northern Spain, but this year he has arrived from France after a mere 100 mile (160km) crossing from Brittany. Despite these differences he arrives in virtually the same place on the British coastline, which is also from where he first left Britain on his first migration south in 2009. How these birds do that is beyond my comprehension.
Last year he arrived on 30th May. His route to Scotland is detailed here www.roydennis.org/.../index.asp. Scroll to the bottom of the page to see his 'homeward' run.
