What a Hero you are Jag and what spirit I can only imagine what the day has been like for you.  Although I have not been on the last few days have been wondering how you were doing.  So pleased the pot is going up you deserve every penny.  I do hope the weather is kinder for you and may the wind always be at your back although not to windy.  Are you up for the Tour in the summer?

BJAG~ I don't want to worry you, but York has a reputation for flooding in heavy rain! I hope tho' that you are able to see something of our beautiful Yorkshire with the Sun shining down on you, York is lovely, very oldie worldy packed with history, but to do it justice you would need to spend at least a whole day or three to get the best out of it, so me thinks you will have to come back for a longer visit some day.  :)

Only once I can remember when bridges where closed and we were allowed to leave work early.That is in my worktime. That pub was half covered in water.

I have seen the river down Skeldergate and at Cliffords Tower when the floods were bad.

Leeman Road used to flood but defences are doing a good job now. You can look up the flooding and defences are now working there.

Jag is safe and York does not flood on main roads and sorry but I love York and it is wrong to say it floods regularly :) The Ouse does and the pub on the news "The Kings Arms" you will all recognise and being honest the work York has done on flood defences is brilliant.

Skeldergate does as is next to the river and I have heard of people being evacutated out of my friends hotel there lol
