  • Just think B&B If I were at the Outer Banks right now I could look out across the Atlantic and you would be on the other side looking back at me.  (Scary thought, huh?  LOL)

but that is one of the many things I love about the ocean, it's romantic mystery.  At the OB, just beach to right and left as far as the eye can see and in front, stretching into eternity, is the mighty ocean.  What is out there, just over the horizon?  Bermuda? Ireland, England, Portugal, Africa? Fishing boats, Cruise liners, commercial ships?  It boggles the mind!  Mine anyway, I am fascinated!

Sounds like a wonderful place where you are.  I'll have to do some more streetwalking.

  • B&B sorry to hear you are having such bad weather. Hope it clears up for you soon. Good you have wi-fi, what do you use? Our friends are on Mull now and hoping they get some decent weather too while they are there. Not much fun in a camper van or a tent in this weather, at least they have a cottage with a proper open fire. Really cosy when it's raining, windy and cold outside.

Jag sorry, only just watched your slide show. Lovely set of pics despite the weather, thank you!  I love Pachelbel's Canon, have done for years, so thought you made a great choice there.

  • Change of the guard.  EJ replaces Odin on the eggs.

  • June is not that scary, I looking at you or maybe you looking at me lol.

Strangely, I am right next to the beach and when I have been there the sea a funny colour turquoise and grey and looks quite nice:)

Chloe it would be lovely here and lots of woodland walks but no where ever will replace to me Arasaig ifthe weather is nice and avoiding school holidays :) I love that place so much :)

June you have made me smile, "changing of the guard" , EJ and Odin how appropriate and I have never heard a better way of saying that :) EJ and Odin Towers and not a palace:) love it June :)

  • Hi B&B Our talk of the ocean made me so homesick that i went over to The Sea thread on another forum for a while.

Your weather might be far short of what you want but at least you are free of work for a while.  I would just glory in my freedom, get on my raingear & enjoy walking in the rain and looking at the ocean and wondering what was out there.  One time  on the Outer Banks - aren't you tired of hearing this! the wind was so strong & so steady it picked up the sand off the beach and blew it in a straight line  parallel to the ground.  We went for a walk with the couple in the next unit - a very unique walk I will remember forever.  We had been given lemons so we made lemonade and good mmemories!

  • At 9:22 The nite cam is on but daylight is lingering.  The trees are all still clearly visible.  Again I hear some plink plink of rain, lighter this time and some wind also.

The unpleasant weather might not be letting go, but the advance of the sun in its journey north is certainly doing away with those long dark afternoons and evenings and bringing with it some much needed Vitamin D and cheerfulness.

EJ on her eggs is quietly taking it all in.

  • It is pouring down here and has been a grey, wet and windy day. Typical bank holiday weather! Still got the heating on and it is 7th May.

I remember spending a week in Scotland 4 years ago, first week in May, and the sun was cracking the flags! Glorious it was, even got sunburnt! Will think about that whilst listening to the rain hammering on the windows. Mind you, there is something lovely about being indoors cosy and warm listening to the rain on the windows, unlike poor Jag two weeks ago who was out in it getting drenched!

  • Hi folks a mobile gab...

The weather is rubbish, B&B you are not too far from me as the osprey flies. Lol

And I can agree that it is wet and miserable. Funny you saying about it being nice in may chloeB, I recall a number of years back 8th May.. I was so hot I put a paddling pool out in the back garden and filled it with cold water.. I then placed all the beed cans in it as we had a wee outdoor party.. Tonight now I fear there maybe snow on the hills... Really strange goings on!!!

All for one and one for all.

  • June I have got my rain gear on and it has stopped raining for now

I still have a thought about the intruder being one of EJ's offsrpring. surely they would want to land on the nest. Maybe wishful thinking from me. I was smiling at the intruder on the camera as I do remember 2010 and know the first fledge but not sure but did that chick spend time on the camera but it is too early. I do have a good imagination :)

  • What network are you using for mobile wi-fi B&B. Is it Vodafone?

Hi Jag. Would that have been May 2008 by any chance? Just checked and it was 5th to 10th May that year that I was in Scotland so very likely it was.

  • jag we seem to get better weather earlier and earlier every year and March was so warm it is scary.

how you managed to cycle through the rain and cold amazes me. I was nearly crying from a walk on the beach and could not feel my fingers when got back. You never complained or moaned like me and all I have to do is walk the dog lol

  • Chloe, I am using wi-fi from the site and public and have had to pay for it :) I am on AOL

  • Thanks B&B, thought you might have been using a dongle or a mobile modem :)

  • Hi Chloe & Jag.  B&B I too wonder about returning offspring.  If any of the unnamed three from 2010 were to return I don't think anyone could recognize them now from the wee chicks we knew then.  They shall forever remain one of the unsolved mysteries of the natural world.  I kind of like it that way.

Chloe, I agree, rain on the roof of a cosy room makes a very lovely, peaceful, even thankful sound.

Jag. I'm a little late in saying, but I think your "Out of Africa" theme selection was an excellent one in every way.  Thanks again!

  • I'm going back a little further ChloeB, about 10 years back.

My signal keeps dropping off I'm on vodafone 3G or mobile signal it is enough to get the email links but often here it is not enough to get on line properly.. This is why I keep vanishing... Oh I need to go and do some of the work I'm here to do.. Lol

    BFN.

All for one and one for all.
