Diane you are suffering. Usually sit in the conservatory and read but this weather tend to sit in the lounge until the sun moves out of the back and round - then it is cooler. We are facing E to W so get sun at back in the morning and at the front in the afternoon. I don't mind the heat but only when on holiday and can sit out and sunbathe, cooling off in a pool, not going to happen this year. Try and keep cool and also the rest of you over here.
Alan - that's shocking news about the chicks.
Hi Diane - Yes, enjoyed holiday but now busy in the garden at home! OH was worried yesterday, lots of work to do, but today we started work outside before 9am and achieved a lot. As you may remember he is in his 82nd year and while his brain is only 50 years he worries because his body is slowing down a bit. I do have to tell him to stop before he gets too tired. Tomorrow he will be fishing in a loch way up in the hills, rowing a boat, completely alone except for the odd osprey. He has a cell phone and an inflatable jacket so all I can do is hope for the best!
Take care -
Heather: Oh, dear. He'll be really isolated. I'm sure he'll be fine, though. Cell phones are a great invention. :-) I can empathize with him. I need my "alone time" in nature, too. Otherwise, I'd be insufferable. (Some people would say that I already am. LOL!)
He sounds like a very young 82. I've been really frustrated this summer because I can't just work and work like I used to, so I can imagine how he must feel.
Take care, Heather!
Lynette: The front of my house gets the afternoon sun, too. I try to get my outdoors work finished in the morning. Afternoon UV is a little intense. I noticed today that I have freckles on my face for the first time in years! LOL And I've gained a whole inch on my bicep arm muscles. Woo Hoo!
Oh, Lynette, I meant to say that I've really enjoyed your photos. Very, very lovely!

I have never tried to post a pic before and I'm not sure what I have done. However, this is OH and son, pic from 5 years ago, don't have a newer one on my computer.
Oh, my goodness, Heather. Isn't he a handsome one!!! Very distinguished and attractive!!! Oh, my!
Who is the younger handsome gent?
I so love the clothing! So what tartan are they wearing? Is it impolite to ask? Very, very beautiful!!!!!! And they could both be in the movies!
Edit: Ah, so that's the son. They both are fine lookin' men.
Heather : Wonderful pic. Well done on posting it.
Back to Eurovision now........Russian Grannies next.
The younger one is OH's son, my stepson. The tartan is Forbes, not our name but a tartan that OH is entitled to wear through his mother's line! I thought you would like to see the Highland Dress, Diane!
Heather, thank you. Absolutely glorious!
I'm going to show this to my brother and tell him that he has to wear a kilt to his wedding! :-)))
Edit: I used to date a guy who looked similar to your stepson. He was an Irish lad, though. From Dingle. 15 years younger than me. HaHaHaHa!!!
Glad you enjoyed it, Diane! Yes, the Irish can have very similar looks to the Scots - same genes???!!! Not really sure.
Thank you so much, Heather. I really enjoyed looking at that photo.
Heather : Same genes different kilts!!!
Voted for Sweden in Eurovision. Romania was good too as was Cyprus.
