Not a particularly auspicious start to the day, with a video stream that doesn't know whether it's coming or going!
One thing is for sure, Odin will be more reliable :-) Let's see how many fish he stuffs them with today.
EDIT: if we can ;-)
"Only two things are infinite - the universe and human stupidity. And I'm not too sure about the universe..." - Albert Einstein
This is the first time I could check in. - Busy day! It is still Friday here .
Thanks for all the great videos, stills and comments!!
Apparently the Cam has been up and down all day :(
It looks like Odin delivered a lot of fish again and all ate until they were stuffed. Plus #3 gets up front at feeding time
There is a video on page 12 ( Friday) that I found very funny.
Chick #3 is a very clever little chick. He was between the two older ones when they started punching each other . Chick #3 just laid down and let the two combatants fight it out ABOVE him LOL He didn't catch any unintended pecks this time .
Then #1 took a walk out side the nest cup to calm down
Formerly known as Barbara Jean
EJ is sitting tight and looks pretty settled. I think the chicks are asleep.
Video is on and off every few seconds, there's very little to be learned from it :-(
Hello Barbara! I presume you're in the US - which part may I ask? I've been away from the computer for a large part of the day, but have seen some priceless pictures and videos. I am not, however, going to trawl through every page of the daily update LOL
I was also very happy to see a picture of Odin roosting on the branch below the nest. We won't need to worry about any Pine Martins with him there :)

I live in South Eastern Wisconsin near Lake Michigan. I am about 1 mile from the lake and 45 minutes from the Illinois/Wisconsin state border.
US Central Standard time. It is 6:25 pm here .
Ah, you are not to far from the Windy City then. What's the osprey situation like round there?
There were noises a few nights ago. Odin must have realized he needed to roost there to guard the nest from Piney.
Plus him sitting there makes it so convenient for EJ. She can just lean over the nest edge and tell Odin they need breakfast :))
Sort of like just shout out the back door :)
He seems to be especially protective this season. Being within earshot is of course quite useful....
Have you heard the owls lately? Apparently calls were heard several nights ago, but I wasn't around at the time, and it's more likely you would have been! Richard has assured us there are no known owl nests nearby, which is probably quite a good thing, even with both adults around.
We have one nest at Big Muskego Lake with a still cam.
So far it has not been sucessful.
3 years ago a couple of eggs were laid, but none hatched. It was very cold that Spring
Last year three chicks hatched but a tornade distroyed the nest and killed the chicks.
The foundation repaired the nest
This year one egg was laid, but the adults never incubated it and a "Ringed bill Gull" was seen with the egg in it's beak taking it way . Since then neither the male or female have been to the nest .
It is a shame, because a nest platform was erected right next to the lake so they would have easy fishing. That lake is always full of fish.
Live video is now down completely :-(
What a disappointing saga :-( Are tornados common in that area?
It takes me about an hour to drive to Chicago, but I rarely to there. A couple of friends and I go once a year at the most. The Toll road fees are outrageous. There are 5 Tolls booths between the Wisconsin state line and Chicago. It cost a total of $10 each way in toll fees. So we have to spend $20 just to go and come back.
Plus it is a nuisance to keep stopping every few miles to pay the Toll fee to keep driving. :(
Wisconsin is quite rural and doesn't have Toll charges YET but most states have them
