Look at this Charing Cross baby standing on the ledge!
PATRICIA hope the agility went well and nobody got overheated.
Hello!!!! I'm sooo relieved! - I have not been able to get on here for some days now: we have been busy, ourselves, but it was so upsetting not to be able to see my beloved Ospreys. My pc put on a message about something being possibly malicious and dangerous, and would not connect me with the Site at all - for a couple of days I was able to see the nest on the Carnyx site, but could not get the RSPB at all. Then I lost even that connection so have no idea whats been going on. Back now amongst you, and thank goodness can now catch up on news both Osprey and human.
Lovely and sunny here - we sat in the garden being lazy for some of yesterday then did a bit of pruning. Buzz gets in the shade or goes into the coolest room in the house, he does not like being hot. Went out last night to a Charity Quiz Night - our team came Second out of about 8 or 9 teams, so we were very pleased - and we only lost to the winners by a half a point!! On our team was my OH's sister, so we had a good gossip about our families in between questions being fired at us.
Thanks to Diane for the cheerful lugubrious Walrus pair! love 'em! and to Sandra for keeping us up to date with the Peregrines.
Going out now but back later to read about a whole weeks worth of comments - phew!! Have a Good Day!!
Good Morning everyone, even tho' I've not posted for a while I have been looking in on all your news, when online I've mainly been on DU or LotL watching the new arrivals. I am going into Hosp this afternoon and all being ok with my recent chest infection my OP will finally go ahead tomorrow, I have a little video my OH made yesterday from a local walk he likes to take Jess on about a mile from us over the field, tho' can't get that way so takes the car to drive round to it, I was there a few days ago with him and it was lovely watching the Swallows darting about, we have also had them fly around out house too this week. Well take care and I will be back next Sunday all being well with loads to catch up on! :)
Morning ALL. Hope you are all able to enjoy this glorious weather. I have read all your posts but do have a few days of not answering yet, as we have been out and about whilst this good weather lasts and gardening, I will catch up later.
Diane, Thanks for starting the week and the walrus pic.
Sandra, Thanks for the Charing Cross Pic. I wonder who cleans up for them, after they have left.
Linda, Sorry you have been having computer connection problems. Very frustrating. Well done on the Quiz results.
NiteOwl, Best wishes for your operation tomorrow. I can not play your video. A message appears saying, "This video contains content from EMI, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds"
I am off to plant summer bedding in my pots in the front garden while there is still a little shade to work in.
Hi Brenda H~ Thanks for well wishes, I'm sorry you can't view the video I'm in UK and should play as it is public, if you click on where it says youtube you should get it from there, it could be the soundtrack block but it plays for others who have seen it. I hope you get your garden pots done today. :)
NITEOWL Thinking of you while you are in hosp undergoing an op.
LINDY in from the sun for a while. Dillon and I have to take care in this heat. Enjoyed a 1/2 mile swim this am in a deserted pool, ditto yesterday. Well done on pub quiz. How very quiet the site is at the mo, guess most are taking advantage of the rare good weather.
HEATHER Great pic , Men in kilts look wonderful. My niece is getting married end of June, do hope bro gets himself all smart in kilt. We don't have a tartan so guess it will be a universal one.
NiteOwl Best wishes from me, too, for your op. tomorrow. I can't get your video to run, either (same message) and I've tried YouTube as well, I'm in tthe UK too so there shouldn't be a problem. The miracles of modern tech. can be frustrating.
Trish2Agility went quite well yesterday. Tweed had one elimination, one with 5 faults (Ithought he was clear but he had hit the last element of Long Jump) and one 3rd place, which was wonderful. Fly had a 5th in Obedience and Indy didn't run at all. Keeoing them cool was a problemas there was a strong breeze off Strangford Lough, which kept blowing the reflective sheet off the crates, then Indy managed to eat holes in hers and had to be put in the car, with tailgate and windows wide.
Another hot day here. We're not used to it, out on the western fringe of the UK. More likely to have cloud off the Atlantic while the rest of you bask in sunshine.
Good Afternoon, I'm going now, my OH is changing the music on video which is a shame as it went so well with the Train theme and was very evocotive.. I havn't heard what he's changed it to so I will have to wait till I get home. It may take a while for youtube to change it so try it again tomorrow, I may have to re-insert it here to play if not.
Wishing you all a lovely week. BFN :)
NiteOwl : Best wishes from me too. I hope all goes well.
Just back from Barnwell CP where it was a beautiful morning. The swan nesting near the path is still on its eggs but the reeds have grown so much that most people walk past without noticing it:
Cute coot chicks:
Current temp 28.2c. Too hot to do anything apart from laze around.
Alan More lovely pics. 'Cute coot chicks' indeed. Try saying that quickly after a couple of glasses of wine!
Still very hot here. I sat in the garden for a short time about an hour ago, which was more than enough for me. Yesterday at our dog show, the temp was high but there was a strong breeze coming off Strangford Lough so it was more bearable - I'm not great in a lot of heat.
Looking in and thanks for all your news.
All the best, NiteOwl, for the OP and hope you will soon be back with us.
Not a lot happening at this end. Just to say I was looking in our quarterly Brixworth Bulletin which was delivered yesterday. It says that at the Country Park close to us they are going to erect a wooden sculpture of an OSPREY - how great is that, couldn't be better. If I get the chance to get down to it I will try and take a pic. Not been installed yet but will be soon.
Lindybird - glad things have now sorted themselves out re PC.
Alan, what a delightful picture of the swan through the reeds.
Very warm again down here but hear its going to get a bit cooler with possible showers in the middle of the week - quite welcome.
Have been reading back - apologies if I dont mention you, but have enjoyed all the posts.
Lynette & Alan: Thanks for great photos. Alan, that one of the swan in the reeds is just 1st class.
NiteOwl: My thoughts and good wishes go with you too, and hope all goes well.
Heather: What a handsome pair, in their kilts!! I do like to see men in kilts, especially if they have the whole kit as is traditional. Hope your OH enjoys his day out alone.
Lynette: Look forward to a pic of the Osprey sculpture, when it appears at the park.
AQ: Great Friday Smiles once more!
Diane: That's hot enough!!! Don't let the buzzards and vultures get any ideas about you!
Very hot here this afternoon ~ not sure of the temperature, but its darned warm and I had to come in from the garden, even though I was under the shade. Saw the results of the Eurovision Competition and was not a bit surprised that no one had voted for us in spite of Engleberts valiant effort (a pleasant song, I thought) - I expected the Grannies to win, but they seemed happy to be 2nd. Rumours that Spain and Greece especially, did not want to win as the winners have to host next years competition, and they can't afford it.
