Having been observing on the new Dyfi (wonderful) nest cam AND seen Nora feeding her young on Springwatch I am wonderfing if anyone has actually observed the youngsters swallowing morsels of fish. It did not seem to me that it was going too well.
At LG the morsels of fish seemed to be taken and swallowed by the youngsters immediatelly they were offered after they were hatched. I'm just looking for some encouragement and not meaning to be negative you understand. I'm sure this nest of treasure will thrive but I'd be grateful for anyone else's observations.

I think Nora is a little clumsy in presenting the food, but this is only her second year of being a mum. She soon got into the way of it last year as a first-timer, and I'm sure she will even more quickly this year.
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
Of course, thanks RACH
News from Dyfi on the Scottish ringed bird:
"Remember the Scottish ringed osprey that landed on the nest right next to Nora a few days ago? She was ringed by Dave Anderson as a chick in 2010. Here's Dave's reply.."This osprey was ringed on 14/07/2010 in Loch Ard Forest near Aberfoyle, Stirlingshire. She was a brood of one." As a two year old this would most probably have been her first few days back in the UK after returning from Africa. How interesting. We had another of Dave's ringed birds land on the nest in 2011 - White DA (2008), again from Loch Ard. Nora is brooding at the moment, the third egg is 37 days old but we're sure that there has been a crack in the egg for a couple of days now - not a good sign. Today should bring us some answers."
Looks like egg 3 hatching at Dyfi now
EDIT 10.04 They've announced the hatching is happening on the facebook page, and the live feed is now refreshing all the time I guess as its overloaded.
Tweet from Dyfi:
"BREAKING NEWS!!! Third chick hatching now!! Watch it LIVE!!!"
i love the quality of it, but i think if they could take it down a notch and have it not pausing all the time would be better
Thanks for the hint, ALAN.
Been watching for c. 20 mins now as Monty causing mayhem wanting to brood Hadn't noticed there was already a thread and made a new one Can it be transferred over If so I don't know how Chicks were under Monty at one point but Nora has them back but Monty still sitting close
Here's something I've never seen before - Male and Female lying "top to tail" on the nest brooding together. Anyone else seen anything like this, or is Monty a really "new male"

Patily think this can be done if you as the originator of the thread contact the moderators.
Rather cute to see both on the nest, with Monty desparate to take his share with the chicks. Both look pretty fed-up with the weather though.
Poor Nora looks fed up with him pushing in too close.
Both still on the nest, but I think it's stopped raining now.
