Now at 3:30a.m. I'm definitely hearing the plinkty pling of falling rain.EJ Is spreading her wings and really trying to keep them all covered, but like little jack-in-the-boxes, she just gets them all tucked in and one pops back out.
Morning all
The nest is bathed in bright sunshine at the moment,
the picture we have is dreadful as the lens is very dirty,
Odin brought a fish in at 6.08 so they have all had breakfast,
now EJ is sitting there looking around with a little bobble head poking out looking around too,
Thanks June for the updates during the night and sugar for letting us know they have all had breakfast this morning.
I will be watching the "Jubilee Thames Pageant" this afternoon and hope the weather improves.
Dear, oh dear, Just watched as chick 1 (I think) made a massive attack on baby chick as he lay seemingly asleep--chick one just kept pecking baby on the back of the neck and shaking him--poor little soul just played dead. EJ completely oblivious though she is now sheltering baby chick from the wind whilst one of the older chicks tries to muscle in under her.
Thanks to all for the news overnight. Like B&B, I shall be watching the Thames Pageant later. Shame about the dirty camera lens but I do beleive it's better than yesterday.
Good morning Milly, I do hope there is not too much fighting this year. The last 2 yrs I have been watching have been perfect order and not much fighting.
Yes a shame about the dirty camera lense. They should come with washers and wipers lol
I must go as so much to do before I put my feet up all afternoon :)
Hi B&B. Just looked in to find EJ alarm calling, must be an intruder about. Chicks all lying low while EJ keeps a keen eye 'open' for any trouble.
Kids home alone as EJ goes fly about.
And back she comes. Thankfully there's no stick in toe.! IMHO the chicks biggest threat is not the cold or lack of food but getting a beating round the head from incoming sticks. I've seen both EJ and Odin bring massive sticks back and land them right on top of the chicks. Amazing how tender EJ can be whilst she's feeding the chicks and then acts so clumsily when arranging the nesting materials.
I think they knock her off balance a bit and she tries not to slip into the deep nest cup!
Milly thanks for the updates, really appreciated
A fanstastic achievement for the Queen. The "Queen" has done a fantastic job of smiling and she looked perfect June. The Duchess of Cambridge looked lovely also.
I will say I am disappointed as prefer the pageantry on the streets and music. "Trooping of the Colour" e.g. to me a bit of a let down :( Not forgetting a fantastic achievement.) I love the pomp and ceremony and music. Today it was missing.
I am off for a while as so tired as no sleep last night at all :(
I think the camera at LG is getting cleaner and I can see more than yesterday.
So disappointed and this is not the "Thames" honest I am
I hope I am not in trouble :)
Hi B&B
Don't worry i don't think you will be in trouble,
I'm afraid i have to agree with you, as you say the Queen has done a wonderful job & i totally respect & admire what she is & stands for, i do feel so sorry for them all standing for that length of time in the cold & rain, i think this is one of those occasions that does not come over on the television very well, i think you have to be there to feel the full atmosphere of the whole event.
the end was the best bit with the orchestra, choir, fireworks & all the ships & boats blowing their horns, fantastic stuff !!!!
Another feed going on
all lined up & taking food.
A quick HI before everyone says goodnight if you havent' already. I had to skip my usual before church visit this morning, so I was hoping to catch everybody this evening.
Looks like you have been celebrating with The Queen. As you know I admire her too, as a great LADY,
Will go back & read & see what I've missed..
