The result of constant rain - This is my walk in the park this afternoon beside the R Don which runs through my town. My wife Susan took these with her little camera.
A few days ago you could walk where all these pictures are.
Another point - At this time of year you can normally stand on the bridge and watch the brown trout in the river below as seen on the picture below - not a chance this past few weeks and remember that the ospreys have to spot them as well before sweeping down so this may well be Odins problem with the river systems flooded and high.
Hi Keith. Your great pictures illustrate just what poor Odin has to contend with--muddied and turbulent waters--an absolute nightmare for him--I reckon he's doing a great job--I know EJ has supplemented the fish deliveries recently but they are very much a team.
By the way, be sure to wear your Kilt if you decide to take a hairrdryer up to the nest--I'll alert BJ to bring his camera!!!
Hello everyone,
Must have been really sleepy today.. Not long wakened, to find a nice broken cloud afternoon. I think this weather is migrating north.
Great pics Keith, thank you Susan for providing them.
Now Milly... What in the world makes you think I would want to point my camera up Keith's Kilt... Lol my gear is insured but not for that sort of damage.. Lol
All for one and one for all.
Milly Hi Keith.
Second - I am telling BJ to keep his lens cap on when I visit with him to LG just in case there are any plots.
black jaguar Now Milly... What in the world makes you think I would want to point my camera up Keith's Kilt... Lol my gear is insured but not for that sort of damage.. Lol
Milly --- I've heard that BJ has mislaid his lens cap, !!! tee hee !!!!
What a lot of water Keith, i can see how Odin could have problems with water like that,
BJ you said you had a busy night shift, must have been as you slept so well.
Hi sugar,
Nope my lens cap will be firmly in place especially if Keith wears his kilt.. Lol
Yes a heavy night, two more to go a day off then another two then it's holiday time.. :-)
I can see a little of the river Leven from my garden, it's tidal at the Dumbarton end but right now it looks to be in full flow..
Since April the amount of rain has been unbelievable... Our birds have done a tremendous job bringing two big healthy chicks through these difficult conditions. It shows how experience counts..
Ok folks off to get sorted for work... Maybe catch you later...
BFN.
I think the brunt of the rain has passed so a chance for these two to dry out this evening and have a couple of days enjoyment whilst it lasts.
Hope to check out my locals over the next two days also.
Yes, Keith, we are so lucky that our LG chicks have survived this appalling spring/summer. I really hate to think of all the other nests that have suffered losses--it must be so soul destroying for Roy and all who work towards the presevation of these beautiful birds to find so many empty and destroyed nests and of course Ospreys are just one among many species which will have suffered. It's so sad.
BJ Who said anything about pointing you camera up Keith's Kilt--I merely asked you to bring it along !!!
BFN see you to-morrow.
JUNE - Reference my pictures at 4:25. I hope you had a good day at the service and maybe you were reading The Book of Genesis - Chapters 6 through to 9 - it may be appropiate for us.
Off early tonight - Susan wants a sixties music night in so better give her some attention.
Also a two way TV to watch the football.
CU all later.
C U later Keith
You can have your football i'll stick with Chris Packham on BBC2
Hi KEIth Got in a couple of hours ago, had a few laughs at all the Gabfest nonsense, admired your pictures (Maybe admire isn't the right word) then took some time away from the computer to just sit & do nothing. Turned on the TV to just watch or doze or whatever. Ended up watching a very funny "I Love Lucy" rerun. But you had to know that Ricky, for complicated reasons, had put the guys there.
Thanks for bringing the flood pictures to us.. We are so used to seeing floods here in southern ohio that your pictures do look familiar. In fact the first & third pictures could have been taken locally almost any spring. Your pictures look very mild to what we see in the really bad floods which occur here from time to time. Even with flood walls build along the Ohio River, damage can be severe when it rises too much. Then most Augusts we expect mild to severe droughts.
You did say homes are flooded in your area so I hope that damage is kept at a minimum and that your weather soon improves.
I Like your picture of the ark, but we didn't talk about Genesis this morning. Instead we were instructed in how to "Spread the WORD", but I won't take her too seriously.:) No sermon from me today
Apparently the cam still is not working properly because I think I'm still seeing the same vidio I saw 2 hours ago.
Cam back to OK, but where is the sound. Two chicks on nest, cuddled head to head. Earlier they were both preening and standing, but they are both quiet now. EJ(?) is standing on the edge of the nest at about the 2 oclock position, very still except for the wind ruffling her head feathers.
3:14 & daylight creeping in right on midsummer schedule.
