Hi everyone.
After an excellent summary by Heron on such a sad day, we start another day and see what it brings to our screens.
It is raining again at LG
Back later on in the morning - God Bless

If only we could communicate sound vision then you would hear the rain - EJ hunkered down as best she can.
Hello Lynette, and thanks for starting the new thread, after a wonderful summary of yesterday's events from Heron - a fitting tribute to the little one.
Our thoughts now turn to the two remaining chicks. Will the fish situation and indeed the weather improve?

Let's just hope so, RtB.
just thinking that people think it is rather unusual to have so many lasers from the chicks fired at the camera this year. Wonder if it is because the nest cup seemed so deep- so with the laws of physics etc, the trajectory is now on camera height!

I think the 'lasering' goes on all the time, and I can certainly remember the nest pole being in a rather messy state at the end of previous seasons, although I can't remember whether any chicks actually hit the camera before. Interesting though that both 'hits' so far have been from #2, which I'm going to find very hard not to nickname 'Guano' from now on!
Chicks were chirping away gently for a while then, but have now stopped. The only sound now is the rain, and the only movement that of EJ breathing.
I hope that nickname doesn't stick.......
Thank you for starting us off, LYNETTE, and good morning, RtB.
I don't know what to say. I have the nest displayed beside me, almost as usual except that it's a bit further away and not carefully angled for the best view as it would have been up to now. I feel that all will be routine from now on, even a slight fish shortage won't harm these big strong chicks and anyway we know that EJ will continue to save the day with her whales.
Maybe when the chicks are ringed and named it will be easier to bond with them. I will do my very best to develop a positive attitude towards them both.
It would help if we could actually see them clearly! But the lens is improving with the rain.
Am just so darn morbid, can't snap out of it but it's early days. The warmth of the forum community will help in time.

and sorry Lynette, I meant to say thank you for starting the new thread- I am usually in bed at this time but just wanted to catch up on everything as it has been such a traumatic day with so many posts to read

Hello Clansk, missed your post, had mine sitting waiting for me to make up my mind for so long ;-)
I must admit I think wisdom is certainly not fitting- miss violence or intolerant are more in keeping but it will be interesting to see how behaviour changes now with just the 2- I cannot remember who posted the comment about how Bynack may have behaved with a younger sibling- I thought that was a very intersting comment
Good morning scylla! There are plenty of people around here who can empathise I'm sure. Try not to dwell on it too much - I generally find that the more one thinks dark thoughts, the worse they get.....
