Many thanks for all the posts, pics, vids etc. The names for the chicks are fantastic. I don't think I'll be shortening Caledonia's name, and I certainly won't be shortening Alba's name. That's pronounced Alapa by the way. As for the rights and or wrongs of tagging. There's a great thread here which disguses this.

Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Goodnight, Cirrus. Have a peaceful roost :-)
Thanks for a brilliant summary, Patily :-)

Wow! That makes all the difference, that's a nice-sounding name :-) Thank you HERON. I didn't see you there. You're a good new-day thread-starter... ;-) You could start off with that interesting and essential info!
EJ potters, seems wary, after 2302hr fish. At the end the chicks sound like capercaillies.
Started new thread
A little earlier Alba gets up, lasers (not shown) and has a good stretch. She then lies by Cally and nudges her several times before a quick preen and a proper settle
Hi Lynette - loved your comparison pics of newly hatched chicks to how they are today - I wasn't watching at that time and I have to say that they look like a tangle of worms!!
