Fish 1 final part (minus 5 mins of Alba feeding at the start, to fit it all in)
Loch Garten stats. and All the important links for LG.
After the fish has gone, EJ potters about cleaning up bits of dropped food and leaves.
Heron77 Okay folks fasten your seatbelts. Here's the full names of the youngsters. Chick one is Caledonia Courage Phenomenal-Magnificant. Chick two is Alba Wisdom Phenomenal-Magnificant. The Phenomenal-Magnificant part comes from their parents names EJ The Phenomenal and Odin The Magnificant.

Morning Patily :o) Thank you for the brilliant summary yesterday.
The GEMs are sleeping soundly now, after their big meal.
scylla As so often, Alba's looking at us!
As so often, Alba's looking at us!
Good morning Osprey fans and many thanks to the 'Overnight Shift' for all the updates, stills and vid clips - I hope you all realise how much we appreciate your vigilance!
They seem to have now settled after their traumatic experiences of yesterday - not only the terrifying ordeal of being removed from the nest, prodded, poked, measured, ringed and then fitted with harness/tracker device before being returned to the nest - but THEN to have had the further trauma of 'The Nest Invader' - no wonder one of them went right off their food for the day!
Let's now hope for a few days of peaceful normality (or what transpires for normality in Loch Garten) for them to continue to develop and practise 'wingercising' and 'helicoptering'.
Has anybody an idea of what the weather forecast is like for the next week or so - here's hoping it's not too wet for EJ and Odin to get in some good fishing. These two are growing so fast, they need all they can get :-).
In and Out again all day - so I'll catch up with activities whenever I can.
speak later Olliebeak xx
ps - please excuse me not using everybody's names - I really don't want to miss anybody out by 'not naming' and I don't feel that I 'know' you all individually yet :).

GOOD MORNING MOFFER & OLLIEBEAK
Glad the girls have been fed. Here's to a sun and fish filled day with no alarms
Quick check of other nests before feeding cats BBL
Morning Ollie :o) Here is the site for the next 24 hours or so. I check several, and they never agree, so it's pot luck really.
Morning sunshine on the nest.
Morning all - after my two weeks away, I suddenly realised that Radio Chaffinch and Cuckoo FM had stopped broadcasting as we're now at the end of June and I'll have to wait for next Spring to enjoy all the bird song again. However, as all has been peaceful on the nest for some time now - the 'hou-eet' call of the Chaffinch has finally caught my attention! It's been continuous for at least 15 minutes!
Morning Birdsong :o)
Cally is up and stretching...poop time. She disturbed Alba who also has to poop. Not surprising after their large breakfast earlier.
Cally
Cally and Alba look so peaceful on the nest at the moment. They were looking at each other beak to beak as they are snuggled up together.
I've not found it so easy to see the difference in eye colour but Alba's eyes definitely seem more orange
Thanks for that info, moffer :-). So pretty much 'more of the same' - bit of sun, bit of light rain. Please God that it remains as 'light rain/showers' and no more gales!
I'm more familiar with the 'other side of the Highlands' around Lochaber - that's our annual stomping ground - and can't wait to get back there in September.
Welcome to those who've recently logged-in to the forum.
'The girls' are looking very observant in that picture above - thanks for that, Birdsong.
I was just looking at the official photo of tagging day, and I noticed something odd.
I thought that the darvic rings should read from bottom to top. Alba's ring is correct but Cally's ring is on upside down.
08.09 EJ is back doing nestorations, and two minutes later she is gone.
Perhaps she gave them a bit of a rough time when being ringed - looking at all that poop down Richard's jacket, it looks as though she certainly didn't enjoy the experience. Maybe they then thought it was better to leave well alone - that is IF they realised it should have been the other way round.
