So another day in the life of the Loch Garten ospreys.
Caledonia reaches 48 days old today. Now that is just into the fledging window. Amazing how the time has flown.
Exciting times over the next week or so.

Hello Tiger! I'm just checking in for a while before bedtime.
What is that noise? It doesn't sound like rain. Maybe it is 'static', or else something is crawling across the microphone
"Only two things are infinite - the universe and human stupidity. And I'm not too sure about the universe..." - Albert Einstein
Oh and thank you to moffer for the summary, and the posters of pictures and videos, with the help of which I have now caught up with yesterday's events :-)
The girls are snoozing over on the rhs of the nest. The one in the foreground is breathing quite heavily; I can't tell which is which.
Robert the Bruce Hello Tiger! I'm just checking in for a while before bedtime. What is that noise? It doesn't sound like rain. Maybe it is 'static', or else something is crawling across the microphone
I think it is rain. The radar shows that it is raining there just now.
The wind is blowing the grass around, but I can't hear it.
Ahhh, maybe the night shift have switched over to the ground microphone....
On the other hand it does not look wet.
No it doesn't. Definitely more crackling noise than earlier in the day. I think it's a different mic.
Ah one of the girls just squeaked (dreaming perhaps? She appears to be still now). It seems it is the nest mic after all.
Wing stretching
then back to sleep
Nice capture RtB. How huge those wings are now. Soon be carrying her all the way to Africa.

Hello ChloeB! She held her wing out over her sister for a few seconds, it wasn't difficult to capture LOL
She has just done it again, and is stretching her leg as well. I've seen her talons grasping at something too. I reckon she is dreaming
Indeed, neither fledging nor migration are that far away now :-/
Just thought I would have a quick shufty before I turn in. Enjoy your night shift :)
She is dreaming of fishing for herself and not having to share :)
