What a bird.
Blue 44 roosted overnight west of Durham and set off WNW before turning back to head south towards Darlington.
Eriks seems to have moved on to a large lake in southern Bulgaria. Others as before:

15:30 CEULAN IS IN AFRICA
He started his migration last Monday, exactly a week ago. Six days later on Sunday morning, when we were all reading his story in the Sunday People, he'd made it to Africa. Seriously, what a bird!
The data window has only just opened so more GPS points should come in tonight. The last point (most southerly) you see on the map is from midday yesterday (Sunday)
It gets stranger.. At 11:00 yesterday, September 9th, Ceulan was in exactly the same place as his brother Einion was last year - a town called Sidi Bennour, 70 miles south west of Casablanca. When was Einion in Sidi Bennour? At 11:00 on September 9th, 2011. Exactly a year ago to the minute.
The wonders of migration never fail to amaze."
That is truly uncanny that Ceulan and Einion should be in the same place exactly to the minute within a year of each other.

What a coincidence
OK: how far do we believe in coincidence?

At the very least: may both Dyfi boys be as long-lived as 09 - but may they have much shorter waits for fatherhood!
I don't think 09(98) is related to the Dyfi family, btw. Nora's mum is supposed to have had an elder half brother who was translocated in 1998, but if that bird had survived - and especially if it was 09(98) - I think someone might have mentioned it.
