Beautiful captures Wendy....and beautiful birds
Both chicks have fledged at Aberfoyle
Kalakotkas nest - apparently there are only 2 juves on the nest and one of them is S8 (who is looking up at a passing helicopter). So has another fledged?

Hi Scylla - been looking at Estonia for last hour (only just got back on since this morning - elec cut off all day!!)....
S7 eating fish after being prodded awake by (?)
someone on campost clonking
S7 lying down and S9 revealed!!!
I think that S9 fledged like he was trying to last night - still have to catch him at it!
My photos here (eventually)
Just been watching S9 helicoptering and flying right across nest - not to be outdone here is 'weeny' S7
strutting his stuff - funny fuzzy pic!!!....
Just been to Hellgate and they are playing with the cam - zooming in and panning around - starting with male on a visit with fish.....
then chick feeding (with a difference - so close up!).........
There is a railway line running along the back of the road and last night I saw a goods train passing and it must have had
twenty maybe thirty trucks - amazing!! Oh for a camera like this at LG and to be able to view our birds with such clarity - we definitely
have to pass the hat round!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Starting this very windy day in Estonia - S7 in middle and S9 on right with S8 just flown in on left................
I've just snapped this from someone else's video. A (ringed!) female intruder spends a few moments on the kalakotkas nest, with S7 and S9 chuntering in a very concerned manner, in contrast to the ear-bashing that Cally and Alba gave the male intruder yesterday, he didn't last more than a few seconds ;-D
EDIT - THAT WAS NOT AN INTRUDER, it was PIRET after being ringed and tagged, done on 4th August, I'm told.
Had a quick look at the Hellgate nest, the middle chick was wingercising so much it was ruffling all the feathers on the chick to the right hands side, was so funny. Think there will be a fledge here shortly.

2 juvies on the Tweed Valley webcam right now:
Please forgive me for using this thread to 'memorialise' Stephi, the Lesser Spotted Eagle chick at Tooni. I have just found out that she has been killed by a goshawk. When I accidentally found her several weeks ago I was blown away by her beauty but she had a terrible wheeze which caused her followers great anxiety, but she seemed to have recovered.
Because I couldn't see her on the nest yesterday (only a tail on a branch, which I'm told was her mother Tuuli) I recorded the nest for over 7 hours today but no sign of her. Then I got a message with the terrible news.
You may gather that this is me trying to come to terms with the tragedy, a tragedy which is commonplace in the natural world :'(
sylla - I know how you feel, I found out yesterday and saw the incident on youtube. It upset me the whole day. I know it is nature, but still very cruel!

Kalakotka "Piret" has been ringed and tagged!
"The mother of the young Estonian eagles "S7", "S8" and "S9" was ringed and fitted with a transmitter on August 4, 2012. She returned to the nest on August 5. "S8" fledged on the same day, "S9" one day later. The female and the juvenile eagles have black rings with white inscriptions on the left leg and an aluminium ring on the right leg. The male, which was ringed in Finland, has an aluminium ring on the right leg."
