Here in Ohio, USA, FEBRUARY is the month of Romance, as our Valentines Day falls on February 14th. This is a lighthearted holiday of sweethearts , of love & disappointment & occasional heartbreak. The Lady expects a frilly red heart-shaped box of chocolates or a bouquet, maybe of red roses, from her Gentleman; while the children celebrate by passing around valentines adorned with hearts & flowers and chubby cherubs and probably Harry Potter and Donald Duck & Daisy and who knows what else?
So what does this have to do with The Gabfest? Maybe nothing, but I am expecting to learn what if anything this minor holiday means in the UK. Do you even have such a holiday? It is still much too early to expect Romance On The Nest, but we continue the countdown with increasing anticipation.
I am hoping for The Gabfest that we can improve at communicating across time. One person can post thoughts, ideas or information and hours later another person can read the post and respond. Still later the first person can read responses to his/her post. . It is my hope that our morning people will begin to correspond with people who posted the evening before and that evening people will look back to the morning and afternoon.. We can even leave messages for people anticipated to be on the thread later.
We expect to have our Music Night again this month, date & theme yet to be decided.
June, A truly wonderful opening as always and I do not think I have been up so late for a long time.
I forgot about Valentines day and a good reminder :) I maybe terrible but to me Valentines day is about secret messages from admirers and over commercialised for money now. Where is the romantic side of me lol. Serioulsy to me Valentines day is about getting a message from an admirer :)
I am up far too late and I did not want to be the first to post on here but happy to do so.
Good night June B&B x
The latest you've been up since New Years Eve, B&B:)
Now I'm going have to go around & read all those posts you made on all those other threads :) By the time I finish those it WILL be my bedime.

Good Nigght, B&B You've outlasted me this night.
June I have and I will regret and was going to say morning and would appreciate advice from pm. It is night time for you lol
I can actually say good night you :)
good morning all .. gabbing on the go again. June thank you for a lovely opening to our romantic month of February.. I wonder where the chat will take us this month. one certain thing is by the end of the month we will all be looking skyward.. our birds will soon be back.
chocolates & flowers... is that the way to a girls heart.. none I've met up to now would be so easily swayed! a smile and happy disposition a lot of old fashioned wooing!! oh and a good smile and good manners go a long long way. the "tilting" will happen in it's own time.. lol
b&b I've called the two big scrapyards out my way.. nothing doing sorry my friend. looks like spacers are your best bet. :-?
New blog at Loch Garten.
What can I say .. I am totally gutted!!! Bynack Thank You for all the pleasure you brought into our lives! We must also spare a thought for all those other little birds that died too, he wasn't alone in the storm that destroyed so many in its path. :(
Thanks, TIGER, for the alert and goodmorning/afternoon EVERYONE. Like I said a few posts back -- no news from our Main Blog can very well be bad news. Richard, bless his heart, knows we love our osprey and that we will cry with bad news and he cares about us enough that he doesn't want to hurt us. So he delays as long as possible. This time long enough that his bad news is really just confirmation of what we have already figured out for ouselves,
B&B Hang in there, girl, We love you and we understand your special loss.
Thanks for the lovely opening for Feb,
Valentines Day as B&B said is all about secret messages from an admirer,
but like everything else it's all too commercialized now,
When we were children Mr Valentine would leave a bag of sweets on the doorstep for us.
but we never saw him, he would knock on the door then disappear,
What a sad day, I know we all expected it but it's still not nice to see it confirmed,
but as you all say, he gave us such alot of pleasure in his short life,
i have very fond memories of that gorgeous bird, :o(((
