She has just retrieved the fish, had a few bites herself, and is now feeding the young one

He is holding his head up high, and getting plenty of fish :-)

The chick has certainly grown, when you see him next to the eggs and think how he fitted into one of those a few days ago!
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
Laddie oversees the feeding, although he's probably waiting for left-overs!
Good Afternoon All. Thanks to all for the posts and updates. My Other Half is on two weeks annual leave, so I haven't had as much time as normal to look in. We're out and about most days, making the best of all this lovely weather.
Sandra - I agree that Egg 2 looks like it's a dud even although they are saying on the blog that it might still hatch up to tomorrow. My own feeling is that Egg 3 may not hatch either, but we'll have to wait and see.
I am back. Thanks all for the lovely pics. :-)
A few I took at 3:30pm.
If nothing goes right, go left! :-)
I couldn't get this to post in with the pics.

Thanks Kate2
Looking in and see that Lady is feeding the youngster. Still just 1 chick then!
Just one chick - and I'm getting the distinct impression that LAdy has given up, or is in the process of giving up, on the other two eggs. She's spending a lot of time NOT incubating them. What does anyone else think?

It's a bit sad if the other eggs don't but one is enough for her to cope with, is it because of Lady's age, or down to the horrible weather like last year.
But so happy she has got the one baby after all her hard work.
The more you rush, the longer it takes
RtB - I would so like to see egg no 3 hatch. Two hatchlings means a better chance of at least one of them fledging safely - but if it was going to arrive, today was the most likely day according to the blog. Still, if you're hopeful, I'll stay hopeful too!
