LG OSPREY GABFEST for May, 2012

  • The Gabfest is looking forward to much excitement this month as we await the hatching of three wee bobblehead chicks at the Loch Garten nest and  many others around the osprey world.

  • Here is EJ waiting patiently on her Fish from Odin, I think she has just had a word in his ear, so lets hope he delivers soon.

  • The fantastic news this morning is that Pale Male is a dad agan. See the palemale thread

Tiger that is good news, Thank you.

June ~ I appreciate your kind words thank you. :) Also for looking back on BJ's report as I couldn't remember when he was getting the train home, it is lovely he has time to recover and spend time with his family and friends before he returns to work. I hope you are well and how nice it is to have Keith over in your time zone and with you so to speak, if you know what I mean. :)

  • Hi Mary~ Thanks for that lovely pic of EJ good to see her basking in the sun, I'm afraid the lovely weather from yesterday here has dissapeared!

  • Good morning, morning people.  The cam is working, the sound is humming and ticking, EJ is chirping and preening, the sun is shining.  We're off to a great start for May.

Hello NiteOwl, sorry your weather isnt so good, its a lovely day here blue skies the lot, but I shouldnt be here I have so much to do as you know LOL.... but I am waiting on a fish, but will just have to leave it for now and get on with things.

  • I thought I would bring this post forward from last night , as others might like to be refreshed on JAG's end-of-journey plans.

A few posts back I asked some questions:Hi Jag, Hope you are recovering from your long wet journey.I'm afraid I've lost lost track of your itenerary. Are you still visiting with friends & relatives or back home or on your way? When do you report back to work?

Luckily, I've found the answers, so Jag won't be bothered with answering. Here is the last part of Jag's original agenda:

Day 7.29/4... Boston to Rutland Water. 40 miles approx Here the Challenge ends and I can relax. I still have 20 ish miles to Peterborough. Then for fun and to visit relatives and maybe meet up with Sugar, I'm off to Norwich on the Monday 30/4.. approx 80 miles.

3rd of May Train back to Glasgow from Norwich and cycle home.. back to work on the 5th...

I'm glad to find this, Jag. It seems you had more free time with relatives than I was thinking.  ENJOY!!

  • TIGER Thanks for answering my question about Bold print. I've highlighed the text with the curser as you say then pressed control and b and a box comes up headed 'organize

favourites'. I'm using windows XP so not sure what I'm doing wrong

  • Milly Click rich formatting then in this rich formatting text box follow Tigers instructions.

You can also use I for italics  and/or U for underline.

Any post out of the ordinary has to be in "rich formatting", even making a pound sign over here where it is not on the keyboard.

  • Milly  Yes June's instructions are right.

For the record I always use rich formatting. So I click the <use rich formatting> button at the bottom right when I go to do a new post. Then a box with controls comes up.

  • Thank you so much June

  • And thank you Tiger. !

  • I haven't had much chance today to watch the cam or even be within hearing distance  When I have managed to peek in there hasn't been much to see.   Just EJ (I assume) sitting quietly on her eggs.  If there was any of the coming and going of yesterday, I must have tuned in at the wrong time to catch it.

The shadows are getting long so the sun must still be shining.

  • Hi June, I did read you post and did see the shaddow on the nest and the sun shining.

So happy to see EJ finally in some Sunshine and hope it continues.

Countdown for the first egg a LG and another nest I like Smith Mountain Lake maybe hatching around the same time.

I am hoping the first egg will hatch and I think not Odin's but are the other two his?

    One must be at least.

Maybe different Gene's on the nest and it will be interesting and I have never seen fighting and hope not to but realistic as the last 2yrs everything has been so delightful and long may it last.  I think and maybe wrong, EJ will keep order and it is how much food or not controls their behaviour.

Only an oppinion and still learning June :)
