DAILY UPDATE (LG nest) Monday 25 June 2012

Good news!  The nestcam cam back on at 0226hr (as far as I could see).

A can just see that there are 3 birds on the nest - no, I imagined it.  One of the chicks has been beserkly cheeping, just calmed down now that I've typed that.  Here's a tiny vid of nothing happening, just in case the cam goes down again ;-)

Off to announce the new thread on the old one.

Good of you to start the thread! I see the cam was down recently. What a bummer. But I see nice captures of the wingercising as they are almost achieving lift!

Hey scylla - did your access to this forum go out for several minutes? I sent you a PM, so ignore it now! I wanted to say I love your vid of 11 secs - I would have done the exact same thing!

EJ was standing on a fish( considerable leftovers it looked like) in the dark and when the chicks woke up, they saw her with it and then got breakfast! It's now gone...or actually. now that I see EJ's tail bobbing, I think she is still eating it off, off camera. Here's a pic of her feeding the chicks.

EJ's taken off and the one chick is watching her go...

EJ's landed with something in her left talon, but I am pretty sure she took off with it, too. Chicks are unperturbed and continue dozing.

DAY CAM.

A bit of serious wingercising from both of them. EJ is currently away.

One wingercising & preening, t'other relaxing.

Some serious grizzling as they come together for a cuddle, then start fidgetting again. "Room service? Breakfast is late!"

Still just 2 on the nest.

I'm off to bring in washing which doesn't look any drier than when I hung it out 6 hours ago <sigh>

Morning all. Sorry that I can't stay today. As I switched on just before 7am, EJ flew to the nest, took a piece of fish from the back of the nest and flew. The chicks didn't move. A minute later, she flew back with the fish piece and tried to encourage the chicks to eat. The rest is here on video. They did not get up to feed. EJ has left the fish and flown again.

Ooh hello MOFFER and good morning. You've suddenly appeared ;-) I thought yesterday's late marathon feed might have involved two fish. I might trawl through my captures to see if there is clear evidence. Have a good day. Cheers :-)

EDIT......thanks for the video clip. I guess the gems are pretty full from last night's feed and the early morning leftovers.
