DAILY UPDATE (LG Nest) Wednesday 18th July, 2012

Nothing to do with DU and LG osps, but the rough location of Blue 44 had been identified and there is evidence of fish eating in the area.  The team have now decided to step back and leave the adults to look after the youngster.  However there has been an intruder on the nest and there is an interesting discussion on who it is going on on the LotL thread.

Well done Lindy, another excellent poem from you.

Evening all and I cannot believe how many fish have been delivered today - the worse the weather the better Odin does it would seem with a little help from EJ.  Thanks for the pics and videos, not usually on at this time but had to log in to see if there was any news of Bue44 and it does look a bit more hopeful.

The odd short flight at distance (through a wet lens) and odd cheep call, but no-one coming near the nest this evening.

Cally has just flown in. She looks quite a bit drier now.

Cally is having a good preen, in between looking around.

She's moved to the RHS of the nest. I can just see part of a wing and tail

I just wish, I had more Fish...
Its easy really, you know -
All you need is a Dad who's keen
With eyes which can spot them below.

I'll eat and eat, till I can stuff no more -
I know what my beak is for!
My sister may try to get there first
But PDQ I'll eat to burst.

I do feel heavy - I hope its not true
That with too much on board
I'll be nestbound, too...
And ready only for sleep.

Tomorrow may come, and bring
More Fish! , which I shall gulp on down
With never a care, for I'm built to eat
From the top of my crest, down to my big feet.

I have to fill up, for the journey ahead
Even if I bulge, instead.
Many weeks I may fly, far far away -
So come on Dad, lets EAT today!!

Nice to think that "our girls" have full stomachs tonight and will probably sleep well.

Cally has flown.

Has everybody had a good day?  I can't believe we were worried this morning that Cally was getting so much of the fish - even she couldn't keep up with today's deliveries and Alba has had a really good day's eating!  It's good that the news from LotL is more positive, too.

Limpy says hello to everyone - he'll be back on here once the headache subsides a little.

I've just been riding again and everything is aching......though happily not my head.

Odin with FISH 9!!!  21.13

Odin in overdrive!!!!

21.13 Odin arrives with FISH number 9 to en empty nest. EJ arrives with Cally right behind her. Cally nearly lands on Odin! EJ takes the fish but Cally takes it from her. No sign of Alba.
