Good morning,
June thank you for your wonderful tribute to Sugar, a lady I had great pleasure in meeting personally and a very dedicated wildlife and Osprey follower.
Her Funeral is taking place tomorrow and Skipper has been in touch with her favourite reserve, regarding putting a permanent tribute/memorial in her favourite hide.
BFN Sugar.. We shall meet again in that big hide one day.
What does October hold for us, well let the gabbing and the fun and the chaos begin...
Duty calls, BFN
All for one and one for all.
Hi JUNE & BJ I did not know SUGAR but I did always read her posts and I realize from what so many have said, that she will be greatly missed RIP Sugar
Good Morning
Thank you June for a very poignant opening post and great tribute to Sugar, our thoughts will be with her family and friends tomorrow, she will always be missed on Gabfest but will always be remembered too, like you, when the new season arrives and we come on here to make our early morning posts and her nest reports are not there, each and every morning she will come into our thoughts, may her spirit be flying free with the birds she loved so much.
Yes indeed Jag, what will October bring for the Gabfest:- good reports for Caledonia and Alba and all the other Ospreys, fun, laughter and interesting discussions, Music Night and Streetwalk, makes the thought of Winter approaching almost bearable.
I have been doing something special with the Statistics of the Gabfest and will post later in the day, you are going to be surprised when you see the outcome LOL......

"I'm new but was upset at aggression - saw bigger chick physically attacking little one - he has rallied a bit but still didn't ask for food at latest feed - I fear for him/her!"

"Hi Wendy
Welcome to the Gabfest,
There has been lots of aggression on the nest this year, it is heartbreaking to watch,
Looks like chick3 has missed out again on a feed because it did'nt beg for food, i like you certainly fear for this ones life now."
Hi All - I did not 'know' Sugar either but, looking back at my activity to see when I first posted on Gabfest, I was surprised to see that she was the first person to greet me and I had forgotten that fact even though it was only three months ago - so much has happened in that short time and there has been so much to learn. Thankyou Sugar and thankyou all for welcoming me to all the forums and patiently teaching me so much.
My photos here (eventually)
Morning all, thank you June for your lovely opening and tribute to Sugar. My thoughts will be with her family and friends tomorrow.
I like seeing the new monthly thread – the excitement and anticipation of what is to come! As well as following the birds, I am looking forward to the street walk end of month – I wonder where Keith is taking us and wondering what the next music theme will be and of course when!
Mary: Interesting to read you have done something special with the statistics – looking forward to your surprise :-).
I’ve had a quick look around and can’t see any migration updates.
I’m out now for rest of day – so catch up tomorrow. BFN
Good Morning Everyone, to those who already have and still will post this morning and a special good morning to all those who read only.
Thanks, Wendy for your remembrance of Sugar. She will pop into our memories in unexpected ways at unexpected times, I'm sure.
Hi Patily It's good to see you up and about so early this morning. It is still 7ish here, so I feel a certain tie., even though you are long since about other things.
Thanks for reminding us about Sugar's funeral, Jag. Also for the reminder of the memorial plaque Skipper hopes to have placed in her honor.
Karen, I'm glad you enjoy the opening posts for each month's Gabfest. I enjoy writing them. Thanks to each of you who have made positive comments about this and/or past months.
Mary, I am anxiously awaiting your post about statistics. I too have been looking into some statistics. I wonder if they overlap? Yours will go first, so maybe I won't need to finish mine. Interesting to see!
I"ve been a while typing this, so I wonder how many posts are piled up behind me that I have missed responding to.
Edit: None. Surprise.
So pleased to read of a memorial for Sugar to be put in her favourite hide. I didn't know her that well but certainly we have 'replied' to each others posts elsewhere and I was so shocked to learn of her early passing So young.
My thoughts , also, will be with her family tomorrow. Posters do leave but when one leaves in this fashion it's heart breaking. Thank you for your eulogy JUNE.

Thank You Doggie - for the link to the new blog.
You're welcome Mary,it was 30 minutes old and i didn't think anyone had seen it
Thanks Doggie, for the pointer to the new Main Blog. You are right, I did almost miss it. and I wouldn't want to. Amidst all the roaring and bird history, etc one small entry caught my attention: Arora Borealis - Northern Lights. What lovely name did KEITH call them? Heavenly Dancers? Don't know if they actually developed at LG, but they were expected. Just hearing about them gives me thrills!!
Cirrus, I think we were all shocked at Sugar's sudden departure from our midst, weren't we?
Mary, thanks for your osprey report, simple enough that even I can take it in.
Spectacular or not, I'm sure your statistic report will be interesting and I'm still looking forward to it.
Mary. That's great. Thank You. As June says, so simple even I can take it in!.
