....which should at this time of year mean a few sea birds are knocked into the north sea and we get some good seawatching. So despite much grumbling I dragged my two eldest children out to the top end of the reserve with a selection of books and snacks to enjoy this bonanza!
Much to the delight of the kids and to my annoyance after an hour and fifteen minutes I had the massive totals of 13 bonxies, two arctic skuas and a single manx shearwater - this combined with the fact that the Test Match was as good as over persuaded me that enough was enough and I headed home.
The wind is still a hooching gale so I will try again in the morning - minus the kids as I will be dropping them off for the school bus - watch this space as they say!
