Bittern captured at last!

Not the sharpest given the close crop but pretty pleased to get a couple of snaps of the Bittern today after getting the otter last week. There was a large party of members at the hides this afternoon but after they left it was quiet (and cold) but worth hanging around!

Merganser from Fen Hide

Lovely afternoon yesterday at Fen Hide. This merganser came in quite close to the hide, great view.

Also saw three female Long Tailed duck and got a close view of the Bittern flying from left to right, a new tick for me !

Hard to tell looking at this serene scene but I was still shivering after spending the first couple of hours of light at pool and fen hide watching thousands of Geese thundering off on their daily sojourns! not complaining mind... well only a little.
