Spanish plume surprises

According to the TV weather forecasts last week, this current period of warm weather is caused by a Spanish plume. A slow moving airstream from Spain bringing warm weather further north than normal. So far, the anticipated showers haven't come with it - just 6mm of rain since 1 March spells disaster...
