The new centre looks great. Can't wait to sample the cheese scones in the cafe and explore the shop.
thanks Col. I'm sure the cheese scones will be as good as before.
I was there yesterday and really like the new look, and i missed the cheese scones :-( But had a lovely mug (not paper cup) of hot chocolate mmm. And of cause really enjoyed the wildlife. So much to see. My best place to go.
The River-My Camera-And Me = Heaven :)
I have been there so many times there is a couple of things that i think could have been better are the cafe is quite expensive for a meal there and on the rspb website it says the visitor center is free but you have to pay to get in before you get there
Access to the visitor centre is indeed free. We only charge for access to the nature trails and hides (and ofrthcoming Discovery Centre/Wild Zone. Anyone who tells us they are only visiting the shop/cafe will not be charged when we first welcomethem.
Regarding cafe prices, these are the same as they were before the recent redevelopment. We use mostly local, high quality produce, which is reflected in our prices, which are comparable to most other local cafes.
I thought RSPB reserves were free to all members? Hoping to come down soon, how much does it cost to go round the trails and hides. M
Coots are fun to watch
To clarify - access to all parts of Minsmere is free to members of the RSPB. If you are not a member then access to the visitor centre is free but there is a charge for going round the trails and using the hides.
As a matter of interest Mr Griffiths I wonder if you could clarify the positions of yourself and Mr Barthorpe as I am genuinely confused as to who certain topics of interest and discussion should be directed.
