If snow brings out the birds, bring it on!!!
It was a fantastic day at Minsmere on Friday, first off all the Bearded Tits were out in force at the base of the ramp to the New island Mere and they were not shy, gots lots of great photo's.
The on the Bittern Hide where they were 5 water rails skating on the ice.
Then on to South Hide to look for the Smew (only 2 pairs found) but a Pintail took off giving me a great shot.
Then on the way back to the Bittern hide, my companion for the day Alex Bass spotted a Wood Cock in the Woods of which I got several great photo's when we walked on several more Woodcock flew up (approx 10)
Plus loads of Redwing, Marsh Tits, Longtailed Tits.
WHAT A DAY!!!!!!
Fantastic set of photos. I have really enjoyed looking at these. You had a great day!
Lovely photos especially the Bearded Tit and Woodcock. A wildlife Ranger did his best to find Woodcock for a group of us on a guided walk at Moore Nature Reserve , without success. Had a similar disappointment with the Beardies at Leighton Moss RSPB recently.
Some great photos again John. Thanks for your regular inputs to those pages. Particularly like the woodcocks.
