Fantastic to see so many people enjoying the Wetlands, especially the children, as a love of nature fostered when they're young will stay with them throughout their lives.
Of course Sunday is the busiest day and perhaps not the best time for observing and photographing wildlife!
I didn't see so many birds today but they were about if you were patient and I'm including a couple of shots here.
Crazy Hairstyle!
Blackcap with power station in the background.
Well hidden Reed Warbler nesting somewhere by the pond dipping area. Ironically one of the least busy spots.
This came from the direction of a Cetti's call and it was very much 'point and shoot,' but I've not had it ID'd yet.
I think the yellow legs are significant and I'm hoping it is my first Cetti's.
Difficult to tell, about the Cetti's, but the colours and body shape seem right, especially the tail shape, and they do have lighter legs that most similar warblers
Best regardsNigel

Lovely photos! I'm hoping to get to Newport Wetlands tomorrow, as my RSPB Reserve Tour De Force continues! ;o)
Frampton today! I was going to call in Middleton Lakes on the way home, but the rain put me off. It will probably be a bit mucky. Frampton is like Newport with gravelled walkways. Not keen to be caked in mud with a two hour car journey still to go! ;o)
