Visible migration was evident from first light with plenty of Redwings and Chaffinches over with a few Siskins, Redpolls and Skyark also. The feeders have clearly been kept stocked up as good numbers of Tits and Goldfinch were present. I saw 2 Reed Buntings both near to the main buildings and a couple of Goldcrest. I saw a very nice first year male Kestrel but my favourites of the day were a pair of Siskin and a Lesser Redpoll, lets hope this is a sign of a good showing for these two species this winter.many thanks to John Horton for his sightings.
