  • Ten or so tundra bean geese at South Marsh.

A leucistic / white winged gull with the black-backed and other large gulls.  Looked like a glaucous but not sure.

Great white egret still at Thorpeness Meare.  Is this the bird from Minsmere last autumn?

  • There was a glaucous gull at Minsmere on Sunday, so probably same bird that you saw.

Re egret - who knows? There are several great white egrets in UK still, and they do seem to wander around. Likely this is the same bird that was at North Warren/Thorpeness last winter, but possibly not the same as the minsmere one fromt he autumn. Minsmere has had several French colour-ringed birds in recent summers/autumns. Don't think this bird has any rings.

Hope geese still showing well for Saturday's walk, which is now fully booked
