About 8 pintail present on the north brooks this morning, having presumeably arrived overnight. There were also in the region of 320 mallard and 200 teal, plus a handful of wigeon, giving the site a more autumnal feel - not surprising after yesterday's weather. The knot remains (!) into its 11th day, along with 3 ruff, a few little ringed plover, dunlin and common sandpiper. The normal September influx of geese is in full swing now - about 500 Canadas and 200 greylags on site today. A raven croaked its way past the visitor centre at about 07.45, initially heading north, then south again a few minutes later. Both a stoat and a weasel seen on the nature trail today.
